Small Animal Veterinarian | Posted Mar 25 2019

Whether you are looking for a fresh beginning or want somewhere better for your children to grow up, Timaru is the place for you.

Timaru is situated on the East coast of the South Island.  We enjoy being a coastal town of around 30,000 with ample views of the main spine of New Zealand, the Southern Alps.  With a great Bay for the family to be entertained (annual carnival and other festivals) and the closeness of the mountains (up to 5 main Ski fields within 1½ hrs drive), Timaru brings to you a range of activities to your door.

Timaru supports a number of schools, including public and private that enjoy great reputations and the safeness of the town is awesome for bringing up the kids.  A Small City in a Big Town!

Are you tired of rush hour traffic?  Or any real traffic for that matter, then Timaru is the place to be with rush minutes of 5 minutes every half hour for one hour twice a day.  But when it only adds an extra minute or two to your 5-15minute commute, who cares!

We have a thriving community that enjoys a full range of products and services.  All that is needed so you need never travel again (unless you wish to for a holiday).  Whilst largely a town based around farming activities, the main area of Timaru has little influence from the farming sector.

Plenty to do!   Safe, Calm & Relaxing!

Small Animal Veterinarian | Posted June 18 2019

We are looking for someone, or 2, to join our team in our work towards providing the best possible vet-care for the pets in our community.  We started this business to provide the best vet-care possible for our pets, at a reasonable price. We believe that in doing this our pets will live longer and have a more fulfilling life, both for the owner and their pet.  This drives all of our decisions and provides the focus for all that we do.

To achieve this, we take great pride in being able to provide the best customer service possible with the best bed-side manner that our patients deserve.  We strive to go above and beyond to ensure a great experience from the patients start of life to the end of life.

As a very popular small practice of only one vet we experience a very high workload.  Our goal is to become a 3+ vet practice by the middle of 2020, working together in a 4-day week to meet the demands of the community and work towards achieving a work-life balance that relieves the stress of life.

Our practice has begun a journey of personal and professional development that is challenging for all of us, the benefits at the end will be hugely rewarding.  This is a long journey and one that requires the full commitment of the team to succeed. With the right team we will get there! Will you join the journey with us?  Working together we can help make this a better place.

While this position would suit an experienced vet, we would be happy to accommodate and consider a recent graduate.

All of the normal assortment of toys to play with are available, i.e. in-house lab, digital radiography, ultrasound, laser therapy.  All of which are new, some are under-utilised.

Relocation costs may be considered where necessary; and help to secure any necessary visa’s, licenses and immigration requirements will be provided as required.

Now you are ready to take the next step …towards success; …towards a work-life balance that satisfies; …towards the heart of middle-earth adventure!  Send your CV and hand-written covering letter to us today. If you would like further details, email us with your queries.

We are a very busy practice, looking for an experienced vet nurse to join our team.

This position is NOT suitable for someone without qualifications as a vet nurse nor without experience!

To be suitable for this role, you will need to show that you are resilient, cooperative, team-orientated, task-focused, and clear in communication.

As a small practice of only one vet, we experience a very high workload. Our practice has begun a journey of personal and professional development that is challenging for all of us, yet the benefits at the end will be much hugely rewarding. This is a long journey and one that requires the full commitment of the team to succeed.

If you would like further details, email me with your queries.

“You walk out feeling like you matter.”

“Just wanted to say thank you to Marnie and the team at Timaru Family Vet. Let me rush in with my problem child cat after I’ve already been having a rough couple of weeks with other life issues, and she was so kind and wonderful and put up with my tears and emotions. You walk out feeling like you matter rather than just a number on paper. Thank you so much!”
